Nagpur: Acting on a tip-off received by Deputy Commissioner, Gittikhadan police raided a flat in Friends Colony, and rounded off eight persons indulging in betting on Australia-Pakistan cricket test match being played in Australia. The raiding cops seized betting material including mobile SIM cards procured by submitting bogus documents. Interestingly, all the arrested accused persons are natives of Chhattisgarh.
The arrested accused have been identified as Nishant Kishore Nagwani (25) of Bhatapara, Ajay Dayaldas Chawla (22), Deepak Parasram Ahuja (22), Satvir Satnamdas Bajaj (28), Vishal Laxmandas Ahuja (27), Chandan Hemantdas Bakhreja (29), all residents of Raipur, Hitesh Nanakram Chawla (24) and Indrakumar Bhavandas Chhuvani ((45), both natives of Dhamtari. The accused were found indulging in betting on Australia-Pakistan Test match in a flat situated at Plot No. 100, Friends Colony in the city. The raiding cops seized betting material including mobile SIM cards procured from Samit Vira of Durg by submitting bogus documents.
Gittikhadan PSI Godbole has booked the arrested eight accused under Sections 420, 471 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 4, 5 of Mumbai Prevention of Gambling Act.
