Nagpur: Following the tightening of restrictions on part of Maharashtra Government in light of rising cases of Omicron variant of COVID-19, Nagpur City Police on Friday cancelled all permissions for Chiristmas and New Year celebrations.
Commissioner of Police (CP) Amitesh Kumar said that the State Government has issued notification about banning assembly of five or more persons, so all prior nods to programmes are cancelled with immediate effect.
A detailed plan for intensifying night bandobast will be finalised on Saturday, he said and appealed to citizens to wear masks and maintain social distancing.
