Nagpur: For parents concerned about sending their children, especially primary students, to school due to Covid-19, and wanting to know when vaccine will be approved for those below 18 years, here’s something that will give them a sense of safety. Bharat Biotech, makers of indigenous Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin, is expected to start vaccine trial for the paediatric population by February-end or early March this year.
Sources confirmed that a leading children’s hospital in the city has been earmarked as of one of the sites for the trails to be done on children and youngsters in the age group of 2 to 18 years. The trials will start as soon as Bharat Biotech, gets the go-ahead from the government.
