Since the Special Inspector General of Police, Anti-Naxal Operations, has been declared as Coordinating Officer, the police officials and other personnel had to frequently visit him for advice and planning in anti-Naxal operations. The Special Inspector General of Police, Anti-Naxal Operations, Nagpur is the closest authority for those police officials and personnel working in Maoist-affected Gadchiroli and Gondia districts for undertaking and planning secret operations against the Left extremists. Hence to encourage them, the Government has decided to increase their salaries and dearness allowances by 25 percent.

The decision will also be applicable to State Reserve Forces and other departments such as State Intelligence Department (SID), among others. The hike will be implemented in salary and dearness allowance and will be applicable to the police personnel till they continue serving in the sensitive areas.
