Nagpur: Noble deed done by any person should be appreciated. Often cops are looked at as cruel people who have no feeling and sensitivity. However, proving the idea wrong, the cops of Kalamna Police Station led by In-Charge of Kalamna Police Station Police Inspector Sunil Bonde did a noble deed by reuniting a lost American Girl with her parents.
According to sources, this girl, who is an American National identified as Lucy Chen had arrived in India about one and half months ago and had checked into a Hotel in Bangalore. After touring Bangalore, she heard about some Meditation camp held in Raipur.
This American girl Lucy Chen travelled to Raipur in Chhattisgarh. After attending the camp for some days, she caught the bus and was travelling to Nagpur. However, she alighted at Kalamna. Even the bus conductor did not object to her getting down at Kalamna instead of Nagpur assuming she had to get down there.
When she got down at Kalamna, she realized that she was lost. No one understood her language. Soon she was surrounded by a mob. However, on receipt of information, the cops of Kalamna Police Station reached to the spot and took her under their custody.
On reaching the Police Station, In-Charge of Kalamna Police Station Police Inspector Sunil Bonde who understood what she said spoke to her and in order to verify her story, had called the Hotel she had checked into in Bangalore. The Hotel authorities not only verified the story, they informed Police Inspector Bonde that she had forgotten her Passport in the hotel.
Police Inspector Bonde then called the American Consulate and got in touch with her mother. Meanwhile In-Charge of Kalamna Police Station Police Inspector Sunil Bonde made arrangements for the young American girl to stay with a lady police official of Kalamna Police Station. He ensured the safety and security of the young girl Lucy Chen.
Within the next 24 hours, the mother of the girl Lucy Chen arrived at Delhi, travelled to Nagpur Airport and got a taxi to Kalamna Police. She was relieved to see her daughter absolutely safe and sound. She profusely thanked the cops of Kalamna Police Station.
Almost everybody had forgotten this incident. However, On July 26, 2016, the Senior Police Inspector of Kalamna Police Station PI Bonde received a letter from the American Consulate appreciating the cops of Kalamna Police Station who took care of the safety and security of the lost American girl Lucy Chen.
