Contractor Booked for Culpable Homicide After Worker’s Fatal Fall at MIHAN Site

Nagpur: Sonegaon Police Station has registered a case of culpable homicide against a contractor following the death of a construction worker at Anjani Exotica building in MIHAN.

The incident occurred around 4 pm on January 30, 2026. Lavkush Badri Nishad (20), a mason from Siddharth Nagar district, Uttar Pradesh, was residing at the construction site. He had gone to the 11th floor to operate a water valve when he allegedly lost balance and fell to the ground, sustaining fatal injuries. He was taken to AIIMS Nagpur, where doctors declared him dead.

Initially recorded as an accidental death, further investigation and a complaint by his wife, Krishna Lavkush Nishad (23), alleged that contractor Munnalal Sahasram Gautam (45) of Yogeshwari Nagar, Dighori, failed to provide safety equipment, nets, or protective grills. Based on her statement, police registered an offence under Section 106(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Investigation continues.
