Nagpur: Wearing black ribbons on their arms to denote protest Congress MLAs held a rally against Modi government’s demonetization in the premises of Vidhan Bhawan today.
Speaking on the subject former C.M. Prithviraj Chauhan said that none of the stated objectives of the government had been fulfilled by the draconian measure.
No black money unearthed or recovered, no effect against corruption or counterfeit currency.
“The very rich have not been hit at all, it is the poor section of society that has had to deposit all their cash in banks and cannot withdraw it now even for immediate and pressing needs” Chauhan said.
Congress leader Narayan Rane said ‘note bandi’ was a Hitler like despotic decision which had led to much suffering for the common man.
“People will not forgive this” he said.
MLAs like Praneeti Shinde, Varsha Gaikwad took part in the demonstration along with other Congress MLAs.
