Nagpur:
The Congress Corporator Harish Gwalbansi whose name was also coming to the fore in land grab cases along with land mafia Dilip Gwalbansi and gang was granted interim anticipatory bail till June 27, 2017 by Juctice Z.A. Haq of Nagpur Bench of Bombay High Court.

Adv R S Akbani and Adv Prakash Jaiswal appeared for applicant. APP Thakre represented the State.

It was argued that the complainant is retired police officer and the complaint lodged is false and fabricated. It was further argued that the land in question is tribal land belonging to Kirnake family. The complainant has lodged a false complaint alleging land grab by Harish Gwalbansi. The APP Thakre opposed the interim anticipatory bail to Gwalbansi on the ground that there are cases pending against him.

After hearing the counsel Akbani and the APP Thakre, Justice Z A Haq granted interim protection to the applicant till June 27, 2017, on cash security of Rs. 1 lakh and two solvent sureties.

The land dispute between Kirnake family and Narmada Society dates back to 1986. Kirnake family belongs to Adivasi community. The land in question is situated at Dabha on Katol Road. It is said that the Congress Corporator Harish Gwalbansi was trying to help Kirnake family in the land dispute. According to rules, no one can buy land belonging to Adivasi.
