Congmen stage ‘rasta roko’ at Takli Bridge Road

Nagpur: Congress workers under the leadership of corporator Arun Dawre staged a ‘rasta roko’ at the Takli Bridge Road here on Thursday.

“The residents of Zingabai Takli and Mankapur areas are suffering because of lack of basic infrastructure, and the administration is completely apathetic towards their issues,” said Dawre. He further said that Zingabai Takli and Mankapur were two of the oldest localities in the city and infrastructure like drainage lines and electric poles etc. are not in the required numbers in these areas.

Dawre also said that the population of these areas was increasing every day. However, the administration had not taken any initiative to provide basic infrastructure to the people despite they paying all their taxes. “The administration is busy constructing cement roads where they are not necessary, but the 150-year-old Godhani-Mankapur Shiv Mandir Road hasn’t been repaired yet,” the Congress corporator said.

Those who took part in the ‘rasta roko’ included Pradnya Badwaik, Rajni Raut, Poonam Khade, Sarita Harmade, Shyam Khule, Yogesh Pethe, Ajay Godbole, Ram Kalambe, Tamija Sheikh, Pramod Thakur, Jyoti Patil, Kamla Tai Bhalerao, Rekha Ambhore and many others.
