Nagpur: Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule has directed the irrigation department officials, to complete the works of small project which can increase maximum capacity of irrigation in minimum funds by March end. Similarly till June 19 Kochi and Khindsi Feeder projects should also be completed, he instructed.

He directed the officials in a review meeting called to know the problems of the officials and to increase the irrigation area in the district.

Through the meeting it was known that there is a need for the funds for the maintenance and repair of project. The meeting was informed that efforts be made to increase the revenue got from the water supply. The Guardian minister also instructed to immediately do the planning of funds for the repair of irrigation projects in the district and send the same to government.

Instructions were also given for preparing the proposal for the works to be under taken in 2018-19 and the funds required for the going on project and the present state of work.

Talking of the small projects the guardian minister asked the Zilla Parishad Irrigation Department to repair the small projects and if incomplete to complete them and to make efforts to increase the irrigation capacity.

The officials informed the meeting that out of the 15 works of Pench projects 14 works were going on. Bawankule instructed the officials to complete the works like repair, plastering, main works of project be understood and completed by June 19.

He said that planning should be done in such a way that the Kanhan water is used more so that Pench water remains. The minister instructed the MAHADISCOM (maharshtra State Electricity Distribution Company) to supply power all 24 hours to the lift irrigation projects. He said that the Satrapur irrigation project was supplied electricity. Ambhora 1 and Ambhora 2 will also be supplied electricty all 24 hours, the minister said.
