Central Bureau of Investigation has filed a chargesheet against Manoj Jaiswal, Congress Rajya Sabha MP Vijay Darda and Devender Darda in the coal block allocation case. Darda along with the others has been named for criminal conspiracy and cheating in the chargesheet.
CBI has said that Darda and his company AMR Iron and Steel Pvt ltd misrepresented the facts and provided incorrect information at the time of the allocations. The CBI has also said that the company violated the eligibility criteria set for the allocation.
The chargesheet is bound to have political repercussions as the opposition has time and again targeted the government and the Prime Minister over the coal scam.

The FIR had said, “The enquiry revealed that AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd had misrepresented/concealed facts in its application form in order to qualify and obtain wrongful gains/undue benefits in connivance with unknown public servants.”

It had added, “The group companies of AMR Iron and Steel Pvt Ltd had previously been allocated five coal blocks as on the date of application. However, the company fraudulently and wilfully concealed the fact of previous allocations to the group companies with an object to avoid scrutiny on this count which would have weakened its claim.”

The move by the CBI comes even as it filed two more FIRs in the coal blocks allocation scam case. The first FIR was filed against the owner of Central Collieries Company Limited in Nagpur and unknown public servants and the other was filed against the promoter and the director of Prakash Industries in Delhi and unknown public servants.
According to sources CBI is also carrying out raids at three places in Nagpur, Delhi, Mumbai and Bilaspur. A total of 18 FIRs have been filed so far in the case.
