Nagpur: Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday felicitated veteran journalists Rahi Bhide and Yadu Joshi to whom he termed as firebrand and aggressive in their fields. Rahi Bhide was honoured for becoming the first woman Chief Editor of a Marathi newspaper and Yadu Joshi for becoming President of State Accreditation Committee. The felicitation programme was organized jointly by Yashwantrao Chavan Pratishthan and Nagpur Union of Working Journalists and Trust.
Other dignitaries present on the occasion include Social Justice Minister Rajkumar Badole, former MP and Managing Editor of The Hitavada Banwarilal Purohit, former MLC Girish Gandhi, NUWJ President Brahmashankar Tripathi, Pramod Munghate, Tilak Patrakar Trust Chairman Pradeep Moitra, Shirish Borkar and others.
Fadnavis said that he has seen Yadu Joshi’s journalism from his first days. He has climbed the position on his self strength in journalism. Yadu Joshi was not appointed to the post of State Accreditation Committee but he was elected to the coveted position. Joshi’s qualification is unquestionable, said Fadnavis. “Rahi Bhide’s journalism is being seen by me since I became Mayor. I am closely observing the qualitative and quantitative journalism of Rahi Bhide since the past 15 years when I entered Maharashtra Legislature,” said the Chief Minister while honouring both the veteran scribes.
