City’s Gurudas Raut appointed State Captain for National Divyang T20 Tournament

Nagpur: City’s Gurudas Raut, born without his left arm, has been appointed captain of Maharashtra team participating in National Divyang T20 Cricket Tournament being organised at Dindigul in Tamilnadu. The 10th edition of the National Tournament will be held from March 29 to April 1 at NPR Cricket Stadium in Dindigul.

The tournament will be inaugurated at the hands of Tamilnadu Chief Minister E K Palaniswami and PCCAI Secretary Ravi Chauhan. A training camp of Maharashtra team was held from March 20 to 25 at Sadar-based Ruby Club in city under the guidance of Ashok Nanvatkar and Mithilesh Ghuneria.

Gurudas Raut is working with Indian Air Force’s Maintenance Command HQ in city. Under his captainship, Maharashtra team has been national champion for continuous 16 years. He has also reprented national team in tournaments held in Pakistan and Afghanistan. Other team members from city Vinay Yadav is working in Central Railway, Lokesh Marghade and Sarang Chafle are with MSEB. The Indian Divyang cricket team has earlier toured Pakistan, South Africa, and Bangladesh.
