City pandals revisited as Bappa bids adieu to rain soaked city

As the city bids adieu to the first God Shri Ganesha, the energy and effervescence was quite evident across every nook and corner of the city, multiplying the cheers to the religious best. Amidst the constant drizzle in line up with the incessant rains since Sunday, the festive fervor was soaked in windy atmosphere and the high decibels of dhol-taasha and nagada were let loose to conquer only the festive spirit.

With the constant wait for Bappa to visit next year the emotions were reverberant in the chants of ‘pudhchya varshi lavkarya’ all the sounds have calm down for a while to make way for upcoming Navaratri.

Nagpur Today visited a few lavish and consequential Ganpati Idols, which got placed in beautiful and ornate Mandals, accompanied by a thematic setup.

The organizers at each Mandal fall short of words when asked to describe their passion for Bappa and this festival. However, one common factor that makes this festival the most celebrated one in India, mentioned by each, was socializing. People of all cast and creed come together, celebrate and enjoy the colours of festival.
