City cricket aficionados crest fallen as New Zealand beat India by 47 runs in World T20 opener

DSC_0769Nagpur: In what could be mentioned as sheer let down of all the enthusiasm, zest and patriotism running high in the blood of the citizens of Nagpur, New Zealand beats India by 47 runs in World T20 opener.

Thousands of vehicles were seen rushing towards VCA-Jamta Stadium on March 15, 2016.

DSC_0772With an astounding score of New Zealand with 126 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs, Indian Team had a target for 127 runs to win. After 17 overs India scored 75 runs for 8 wickets causing India to lose their eighth wicket in Ravichandran who scored 10 runs off 20 balls. Sodhi got his wicket which was third for the New Zealander.

The scene was after 16 over India scored 66 runs for 7 wickets. India had lost the battle with just three wickets in hands.

DSC_0792In spite of number of Traffic Policemen stationed at even places, the cars, two-wheelers were seen in a mad rush dodging and maneuvering to reach VCA-Jamta Stadium and traffic jam beginning right near the spot where Khapri starts. Flags and T-shirts were being sold by some street vendors standing at places where no vehicle ever even stopped. Many boys and youth had adorned crazy paints and head gears and were seen yelling India… India…or Bharat Mata Ki Jai etc.
But alas all the enthusiasm to watch their favourite players play was shattered when India lost horribly.

However, sources claimed that all the eateries like Dhabas in Khapri are doing brisk business with people wanting to enjoy Dhaba food.
