Nagpur:
A slew of Congress corporators who are being given notices by party’s Nagpur President Vikas Thakre over their alleged anti-party activities have now decided to take the issue further. As the corporators belonging to Congress leader in NMC Tanaji Vanve camp were consciously chosen to slap notices, an emergent meeting was called at the residence of senior party leader Satish Chaturvedi. The meeting was also attended by other party leaders like Nitin Raut, Ashok Dhawad and all the corporators from Vanve camp.

The corporators have alleged that Thakre has been dashing notices to them for their involvement in anti-party activities. It was assured in the meeting that the existing city Congress president cannot serve notices to anyone as the election process is underway. The notices henceworth loses its validation, the meeting decided.

It may be mentioned that as per MMC act, the corporators have the right to choose their leader as many times as they would want on the basis of majority. The leaders also deemed right Vanve’s election. However the corporators are instructed to exercise restraint till the court’s verdict comes out in the case filed over the issue of the local party leader.

On the other hand Congress leader Sandeep Sahare has launched fresh attack on Vanve accusing him of not taking corporators into confidence and also not standing by them on key issues.

He alleged that that Vanve is only considering senior leader Prafulla Gudadhe Patil for all NMC affairs which is not going down with corporators of his camp. Vanve had not even apprised any corporator of the party’s stand in NMC’s general body meeting.

Meanwhile, Vanve reached at Sahare’s residence on Thursday morning to clarify his stand. He also reportedly tried to pacify the issue and decided to move forward on common ground.
