Nagpur City Congress Committee has taken serious stance of emerging fake voters in view of upcoming NMC elections. A delegation of party workers led by City Congress President Vikas Thakre has submitted a memorandum to the Collector Sachin Kurve, demanding immediate action into the matter which came to light about three months back. He has pressed for registering FIR against the bogus voters and those aiding them. Thakre has also expressed resentment for the telling delay in initiating action against the erring voters and staged demonstration in front of Collector office on Saturday.

Thakre claimed that he has drawn a list of 2325 bogus voters in ward number 32, through an RTI query filed in this regard. He has submitted entire list of such voters along with the details of two such cases.
It may be mentioned that Congress has raised the issue over three months ago, however, nothing substantial has been initiated so far in the matter. Thakre has also claimed involvement of corporators in cooking up the bogus voters’ list, and demanded an FIR within a week.

Other prominent members who accompanied Thakre were Congress leader  Vishal Muttemwar, Umakant Agnihotri, Abhijeet Wanjari, and other City Congress Committee office bearers, corporators and large number of party workers.
