The Union of two Kali Marbat: The procession which includes Klai & Pili Marbat and Badgya started from Jagnath Budhwari and travelled to Itwari and other parts of the city. The Kali Marbat, which is part of the annual procession reached Chitar Oli Square and it was a momentous occasion when the Marbat in the procession and the one on pillar faced each other. Flowers and Gulal were freely offered as the devotees rushed to witness this unique scene. Citizens had assembled at Chitar Oli right since morning to witness this moment.
Pili Marbat Meets Pili Marbat: After Kali Marbat it was the turn of Pili Marbat. The Pili Marbat which was part of the procession also arrived at Chitar Oli Square. Alike Kali Marbat, the Pili Marbat of the procession, too paused near the Pili Marbat engraved on the Metro pillar. The president of Pili Marbat Committee Shri Prakash Gaurkar and others offered puja there. Metro officials also welcomed the Marbat Procession at Chutar Oli Square.
For the first time such a scene was witnessed at Chitar Oli Square. The Kali and Pili Marbat were stationed near the engravings at Chitar Oli Square for about half an hour before proceeding for the onward journey. People used mobile cameras to record this momentous occasion. Marbat procession is one of the unique traditions of the city and such a procession is not organized anywhere else in the country. Devotees offer prayers when this procession is organized. A strone police bandobast marked the occasion.
