Central Railway, Nagpur celebrates I-Day

Nagpur News: Nagpur Division of Central Railway on Friday celebrated the 68th Independence Day with patriotic fervor. Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) O P Singh unfurled the National Flag at the premises of DRM Office. Thereafter, O P Singh took the salute from officials and jawans of Railway Protection Force (RPF) who marched in a grand parade. Senior Divisional Safety Commissioner Ibrahim Sharif was present on the occasion.

The DRM Singh read out an “Independence Day Message” of Central Railway General Manager Sunil Kumar Sood to all officials and employees who were present in large numbers. The Message said that the performance of Central Railway during the first four months of current financial year was much better than the previous year. The Nagpur Division recently rolled out the 200th engine from its Ajni Loco Shed and also extended excellent health facilities by carrying out renovation of 100-seat air-conditioned hall at CR’s Hospital in Nagpur. Cleanliness at almost all stations of Central Railway is being maintained and for better results, machine-oriented cleanliness contracts have been given to private firms, said the Message of General Manager and also extended Independence Day greetings to officials, employees and trade unions for their hard work and cooperation in making the Central Railway passenger-friendly.

The DRM O P Singh also greeted all the personnel on the occasion of Independence Day and highlighted the achievements of Nagpur Division of Central Railway.

A large number of officials, employees and trade union office-bearers were present on the occasion.

The Railway Administration has started a toll free passenger safety helpline number 1800111322 for handling any complaint of passengers. Now, passengers can lodge their complaints regarding baggage thefts, harassment, emergency insecurity situations or any other complaint on this helpline number. All the Railway Protection Force personnel have been directed to deal with the complaints received by them through the helpline number and extend all possible help to passengers, a press release issued by Railways said.
