Nagpur: A 49-year old woman, who is Superintendent in Central Excise and Customs, was robbed of her gold chain worth Rs 50,000 by a moped-borne miscreant in busy Gokulpeth area here on Thursday night.
Usha Vijay Kumar, resident of Main Road, Gokulpeth, and posted as Superintendent in Central Excise and Customs, was returning home around 8 pm on Thursday on her Pleasure moped (MH-31/CU 9135). When Usha reached near Mata Mandir, a ruffian riding on Activa-like moped came from behind and snatched her gold chain worth Rs 50,000. The chain-snatcher fled the spot even before Usha could raise an alarm.
Ambazari PSI Kaluse, based on a complaint, has booked the unidentified robber under Section 392 of the IPC and searching for him.
