Nagpur: This morning, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided the headquarters of the National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI) located on Wardha Road in Nagpur. The raid follows complaints of significant irregularities in the purchase of expensive research equipment.
According to reports, a special CBI team conducted the raid at NEERI in Nagpur, citing gross irregularities in the procurement of costly research equipment. Reliable sources indicate that the raid was based on a solid complaint received by the CBI. The investigation is focused on determining what research and expensive equipment were purchased by NEERI. Suspicious scientists’ offices are being searched, and documents are being scrutinized. During the investigation, no one is being allowed to enter NEERI’s headquarters. Local police are also present along with the CBI.
