New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Tuesday claimed that the actual motive behind Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raid in his office was to obtain the file relating to the DDCA issue where Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is facing allegations.

Kejriwal said Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar was just an excuse to enter my office and obtaining the DDCA file was the real motive of CBI.

“They(CBI) had come to search for DDCA files which have Jaitley ji’s name, as he had been president of DDCA and probe is on in the case,” said Kejriwal.

Kejriwal said if CBI wanted to dig out proofs against Rajendra Kumar, they would have gone to the office’s of the concerned departments because everybody knows that CM offices does not have files older that 10-15 days.

Kejriwal said, “If they wanted to investigate old cases against Rajendra Kumar, CBI people would have gone to the offices of the concerned department. Why they came to my office?”

The CBI said on Tuesday that it raided 14 locations in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh, including the office of the secretary to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Despite clarifications from CBI and Centre on the issue that the raids was not against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, but against an official who was attached to his office, Opposition stalled the Parliament on the issue.
