Nagpur: With the demonetizaton of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes, poll equations never remained the same, be it assembly polls or local body elections. Nagpur Municipal Corporation would soon see polls happening to elect it new members and the time is ripe for the parties to accelerate their poll campaign.
The ruling BJP in NMC has now focused its attention to drive the voters in its favor and the latest tool to do so turned out to be the Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decision to put off existing Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes. In its renewed poll campaign BJP has reportedly put message across the hoardings in Nagpur. The message written on these hoardings usually catch one’s eyes. Interestingly this tactics has become the hot talking point among the people standing in long queues outside banks, awaiting their turn for the change.
However the big question is will it really change the perspective of voters towards BJP? That remains to be seen once the results of NMC polls will be out.
