Candle March by Sadar residents to pay homage to Uri martyrs

Nagpur: Showing anguish, pain over dastardly terror act on Army’s Uri base in Jammu and Kashmir in which 18 soldiers were killed, residents of Sadar including traders, businessmen, women, children and aged took out a candle march to pay homage to the martyred jawans.

The Candle March started from Azad Square at 6 pm and culminated at Gandhi Square after passing through Golcha Marg, Sadar Main Road and Tukaram Chawl. Members participating in the candle march shouted slogans “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” Vande Mataram, “Pakistan Murdabad” etc. At Gandhi Square, the Sadar residents lighted candles, laid wreaths and observed silence for two minutes to remember the supreme sacrifice of 18 soldiers who were martyred in the brazen terror attack at Uri. The participants included all people across political parties and urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi to give a befitting reply to the rogue nation.

The candle march was organized by the Convener Ritesh Agrawal under the leadership of social activist Sachin Singh Banafar and participated by Priti Singh Banafar, Jaishri Atkurwar, Saroj Atkurwar, Maya Singh Banafar, Anju Bais, Varsha Nampalliwar, Jyoti Gatlewar, Jaishri Shende, Vinod Parakh, Kamalraj Dhariwal, Laxminarayan Vasvani (Chinku Seth), Lokesh Rajan, Nawab Sheikh, Shenky Domkundwar, Dr Girish Gautam, Rahul Dikondwar, Dr manoj Sarkar, Lakhan Kanoujia, Sunil Mathews, Santosh Atankrawar, Bandu Painter, Rupesh Jain and a large number of other residents, traders, businessmen and political workers.
