CAIT’s E commerce Portal e-Lala by the Traders-for the Traders

Nagpur: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) in its meeting of National Governing Council held at Nagpur on 8th June has decided to launch its own E-Commerce Portal. The portal has been named as ” e-Lala” and expected to be launched in India within three months. The portal will be unique in the sense that it will have direct interface facilities for both sellers and consumers and no third agency will be involved in any transactions. Such a facility will enable the elimination of commission component usually charged by the portal and thereby reducing the cost. CAIT has constituted a Committee under the Chairmanship of its National President Mr. B.C.Bhartia for implementing the decision.

Explaining the details of the e commerce portal Mr. Bhartia said that it will be first e commerce portal in the Country “by the traders-for the traders”. It will be a location based portal wherein Traders from different cities will be registered under their respective category of items. The Consumer will have the option to either to buy online or from physical store of the chosen seller. Each seller at the portal will have its own website and the liberty will be given to the seller to operate the website either himself or through or prefer to operate by the portal. Utmost transparency will be maintained and transaction that occur at the portal will be of highest standards. Portals technical team shall be stationed in each city to provide technical support. The Trade Associations across the Country will be associated with the portal as a catalyst.

CAIT Secretary General Mr. Praveen Khandelwal said that undoubtedly E Commerce is a promising business of the future and is driven by consumer’s choice. Therefore, it was thought advisable to launch an e commerce portal which will provide an additional market place for the traders to open showroom at a lowest price. The CAIT is giving a reliable, comprehensive and transparent e commerce model which can be summarized in one tag line ” Of the traders-by the traders-for the traders”.
