Burglars strike at 3 houses, decamp with booty worth Rs 3.82 lakh

Nagpur: Burglars struck at three houses in Nandanvan, Gittikhadan and Hudkeshwar and decamped with cash and other booty collectively worth Rs 3.82 lakh.

In the first incident, a resident of Plot No. 2, Vidya Nagar, Nandanvan, Kamalesh Rambhau Durge (38), along with family went to Old Bagadganj for ‘Haldi’ programme between 12 noon and 4 pm on Thursday. In the meantime, unidentified burglar(s) broke open the door lock and gained entry into Kamalesh’s house. The miscreants laid their hands on cash of Rs 10,000 and gold-silver ornaments worth Rs 1.29 lakh kept in a cupboard.

Nandanvan API Sonavane, based on Kamalesh Durge’s complaint, booked the unidentified burglar(s) under Sections 454, 380 of the IPC and searching for them.

Similarly, Rs 1.55 lakh cash was stolen from the residence of Isteyaq Khan Jabiulla Khan (49), staying at Plot No. 51, Sainagar, near Dabha Masjid. Isteyaq, along with family, had gone out around 2 pm on Thursday. When he returned around 10.15 pm, he found grills of window broken and cash of Rs 1.55 lakh stolen from bedroom cupboard.

Gittikhadan PSI Godbole has registered a case under Sections 454, 380 of the IPC. Search is on to nab the burglars.

In the third incident, unidentified goons decamped with Rs 50,000 cash and other valuables worth Rs 37,000 from the house of Mustafa Khan Burhan Khan (36), resident of Plot No. 261, Sarvashri Nagar, Hudkeshwar, between Wednesday midnight and 8 am of Thursday. Mustafa, along with family, had gone to Karanja, district Yavatmal, for relatives marriage. Thieves smashed latch of door and decamped with cash and other valuables worth Rs 87,000.

Hudkeshwar ASI Rewatkar has booked the unidentified miscreants under Sections 454, 457, 380 of the IPC and searching for them.
