BSP plan to hold interviews in Nagpur raises questions, locals being robbed of jobs

Nagpur: In a questionable move, the top bosses of Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) have decided to conduct interviews for various technical posts in Nagpur City. The BSP decision is being seen as classic case of depriving the local persons of job prospects and neglecting their aspirations. Questions are being raised over the reasons for conducting interviews in Nagpur. The Bhilai Steel Plant neither has any office in Nagpur nor centre of SAIL Corporate Office. The only motive behind holding the interviews in city is to deliberately rob employment to local people.

Earlier also, the written examinations were held in Nagpur, Kolkata and Bilaspur. On the other hand, the management of BSP has their stand. They say that the interviews are being conducted in such a city which is located at the centre of the country. It will be easy for the candidates coming from far flung parts of the country. Nagpur is at the centre and is equipped with all facilities, said the BSP bosses.

The interviews will be held for the posts of attendants-cum-technicians, operators-cum-technicians, mining foremen and others.

The interviews are being conducted in the second or third week of May. As of now, dates have not been announced.
