Nagpur: In what could be mentioned as almost a sequel to Gangajal, the brother of the main accused identified as Sandeep Singh Arora was nabbed from District Court premises where he was trying to procure an anticipatory bail.
According to sources close to the family, the accused and his family members are on the run from the time a case was registered in Ambazhari Police Station.
The police is on the look- out for all the accused. On May 22, 2016, the victim and her family had met the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and later the family members of the victim went to meet the Commissioner of Police S P Yadav with their plight. Both the Chief Minister and the Commissioner of Police assured the members of the family that the accused may be very wealthy yet will not be spared. Law does not differentiate between wealthy and poor when it comes to law.
The family members of the victim had somehow got a secret tip off that the brother of the accused identified as Sandeep Singh Arora is trying to get anticipatory bail and is presently in the court. All the family members of the victim had covered their face with scarves and had spread themselves in the court premises.
Sandeep Singh Arora was suddenly spotted by one of the victim’s family member wearing a Burkha and approaching the court with an objective of procuring the anticipatory bail. The Bua (Aunt) of the victim who was a very daring lady played the key role and nabbed Sandeep and informed the cops of Ambazhari Police Station who rushed to the court premises and took him in their custody.
Earlier when the victim’s family members had informed the cops about the probability of the accused or his family members approaching the court to procure anticipatory bail, they expressed their inability to nab him inside the building. They assured the victim’s family that once the accused comes out they will nab him.
However, the victim’s family did their work and nabbed the brother of the accused Sandeep Singh Arora and handed him over to the cops of Ambazhari Police Station. In-Charge of Ambazhari Police Station P I Shankhe confirmed nabbing him. Till the time of filing the story, the formalities of the arrest and the questioning was on.
It could be mentioned here that Hardeep Singh Arora and his family members have been tormenting Hardeep’s wife Sharlyn (name changed) for dowry. The victim Sharlyn was also reportedly subjected to sexual torture by her husband Hardeep who forced unnatural sex with her on many occasions. Sharlyn also complained of sexual harassment and molestation by her brother in law and father in law.
All the five members including Hardeep, his brother Sandeep Singh, father Tejpal Singh Arora, mother Ajinder Kaur and Sandeep’s wife Isha have been booked under sections 498 (A), 377, 354 (A)(1), 323, 34 of IPC. Ambazari police are investigating the matter. Sources also hinted at the possibility of arrest of Hardeep and other family members any time soon. Incidentally, the girl had approached the Gurudwara Committee fearing the family’s reputation. The Committee heads then tried to intervene and pacify the matter. But the relation only strained in due course as Hardeep often press Sharlyn to get her father to buy him a car. Hardeep often came home drunk and used to force her into unnatural sex. The girl informed that taking advantage of the situation, her brother in law and father in law also made sexual advances towards her. Her brother in law had even molested her when Hardeep was out of town. She complained that her father in law would often insist her to sleep with him.
