Nagpur: While observing Breast Cancer Awareness month (October), a Breast Cancer awareness and detection camp is organized at Central India Institute of Medical Science (CIIMS) Hospital on Wednesday the October 12, 2016.

From 1:00pm to 3pm free consultation will be imparted to the patients (only Rs. 80 will be charged for registration). General Surgeon of CIIMS Dr. Kelkar will guide & educate the participants.

The percentage of breast cancer is more in urban cities as compared to rural areas. Every year around 80,000 women are found to be affected with breast cancer. The reasons behind this fatal disease are mental tension, being unmarried, being issue-less and late marriage etc. Even in the modern era there is no awareness about cancer. Women come to consult doctor when the cancer has already reached the 2nd, 3rd or even the 4th stage of breast cancer.

If the women reach the surgeon in the 1st stage itself, their lives can be saved and with treatment the cancer may be cured too.

A session will be held at the venue to create awareness of Self examination of breasts.  Women will be taught how to examine their own breast so that earliest detection is possible. Various Ladies Clubs of Nagpur and the women activists of other social organization can come to take advantage of this camp.

Central India Institute of Medical Science Hospital is situated at 88/2, Bajaj Nagar, Nagpur.
