Booty worth Rs 2.70 lakh stolen from parked car in Yashodhara Nagar

Nagpur: In yet another incident of its kind, booty worth Rs 2.70 lakh was stolen from a parked car in Yashodhara Nagar area here on Tuesday. City is witnessing a spate of ‘car breaks’ and valuables stolen in recent times.

In the latest incident, the victim Vishal Prakash Hemrajani (23), resident of Plot No. 95, Bhagabai Layout, Kasturba Nagar, Yashodhara Nagar police jurisdiction, parked his Maruti Swift car (MH-49/AE 7040) near Indian Oil Pump, Yadav Nagar around 4.30 pm on Tuesday and went to his office nearby. In the meantime, unidentified miscreant(s) slyly opened rear window of his car and decamped with a bag containing camera, laptop, and Canon lense collectively worth Rs 2.70 lakh. The theft came to notice of Vishal when he returned to his car.

Yashodhara Nagar police constable Gajanan has registered a case under Section 379 of the IPC and searching for the accused.

In another incident, a vegetable vendor was robbed of Rs 35,000 cash by two unidentified goons near Agyaram Devi Square on Tuesday afternoon.

A native of Etapalli, District Gadchiroli, Ramkrishna Narayan Sahare (42), sold his vegetables at Cotton Market and kept Rs 35,000 in a nylon bag around 12.30 pm. He later proceeded towards Agyaram Devi Square walking. Midway, two unidentified goons accosted Ramkrishna and snatched the nylon bag containing the cash and fled the spot even before he could raise an alarm.

Ganeshpeth police constable Juwarkar, based on complaint of Ramkrishna, booked the two unidentified accused under Section 379 and searching for them.
