A 22-year old boy was tricked and robbed of an Activa scooter and cash of Rs 10,000 by four criminals who posed themselves as policemen. Kalamna cops have mounted an intense search to apprehend the offenders.
The victim, Amitkumar Ashokkumar Singh (22), resident of Plot No. B/1, MECL Colony, Seminary Hills, received calls on his mobile phone between 0811 hours of Thursday and 0330 hours of Friday from the accused named Bala Wankhede and his three unidentified accomplices. Bala Wankhede introduced himself as a Head Constable of Kalamna Police Station and told Amitkumar that an FIR in connection with vehicle theft has been registered against him. The bogus Head Constable Bala Wankhede threatened Amitkumar to come to the police station along with Activa and Rs 10,000 or else he will be arrested from house. Scared to the core by the threatening words of the fake policeman and his three accomplices, Amitkumar left for Kalamna Police Station. However, midway, the accused Bala Wankhede and three others stopped Amitkumar near Lata Mangeshkar Garden, Surya Nagar and posing themselves as policemen, forcibly took away his Activa (MH-40/ 7610) worth Rs 35,000 and Rs 10,000. Amitkumar soon realized that he has been tricked and robbed by the four fake cops, most probably under fictitious names. Finally, Amitkumar reached Kalamna Police Station and registered a case against the “Head Constable” Bala Wankhede and three other bogus cops.
PSI Bhagile booked the four fake policemen under Sections 170, 384, 506, 34 of IPC and launched a search to apprehend the offenders.
