Gondia/Nagpur: After the resignation of Nana Patole the rebel BJP MP from Gondia-Bhandara the vacant post is soon to be filled. For this post the BJP has been thinking of Nagpur candidate for Gondia-Bhandara seat and for this former Mayor Pravin Datke’s name is in coming up.
It may be mentioned that the Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had called a for meeting of Gondia districts BJP MLAs, office bearers to discuss the by-election of Gondia-Bhandara seat. The BJP members felt that BJP would field NCP leader Praful Patel in the by-election as BJP candidate. The angry BJP members with one voice protested that an outsider should not be imposed. The BJP needs a strong candidate to oppose the opposition parties candidate, is very true.
This has become a prestige issue for the BJP and so the Chief Minister as per the strategy has appointed the Nagpur district Guardian Minister for Bhandara district. In the waiting list of leading BJP candidates is Pravin Datke and so BJP with full might may support him.
The party is facing a lot of problem in promoting Pravin Datke of Nagpur who belongs to OBC community. When he was a Mayor he lost the chance of contesting the Assembly election. When the MLC elections were held at that time also he lost a chance. The BJP cannot make mistake of neglecting the Halba community as it has not done anything for them and so it has to think of MLA Vikas Kumbhare who belongs to Halba. For the election BJP cannot think of giving candidature to Datke forgeting Vikas Kumbhare from Central Nagpur.
If everything goes well Datke candidature for Gondia-Bhandara constituency would be thought of seriously.
