
Nagpur: Panic erupted late at night after a bitumen heating vehicle suddenly caught fire on the flyover located in the wardhaman Nagar area of the city. Local residents, noticing thick smoke, promptly alerted the Fire Department. However, due to unclear initial information about the vehicle type and exact location, fire officials faced some confusion.
A few minutes later, a young woman called the control room and provided precise details, confirming that the fire had broken out in a bitumen heating vehicle. Acting swiftly, a team from the Lakadganj Fire Station rushed to the spot and managed to bring the flames under control after strenuous efforts.
Reports suggest that the vehicle belonged to a private agency and was equipped with a boiler for heating bitumen. The incident temporarily disrupted traffic on the flyover, causing inconvenience to commuters.
The exact cause of the fire is yet to be determined. The Fire Department has launched a preliminary investigation and is assessing the extent of damage. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
