Bike-borne robber caught luckily in Dhantoli

A motorcycle-borne robber who tried to relieve a man at knife point was caught as two colleagues of the would-be victim arrived at the spot in the nick of time. The incident occurred on the busy road in front of Dhantoli Zone Office of NMC on Tuesday afternoon.

The complainant, Shahrukh Khan Ahmed Khan (24), resident of Nandanvan, near Hasanbagh Gate, was going towards Lokmat office from Ghat Road around 4 pm on Tuesday. Midway, when Shahrukh reached at Railway Bridge in front of NMC’s Dhantoli Zone Office, the accused Karan alias Sandeep Sanjay Nandanwar (20), resident of Takiya, Dhantoli, stopped his bike (MH-31/ES 7585) in front of Shahrukh’s two-wheeler. The accused whipped out a knife and demanded Rs 200 from Shahrukh. The accused Karan threatened to kill Shahrukh if he refused to hand over the money. Luckily, two office colleagues of Shahrukh named Girish Moraskar and Jitendra Sharma arrived at the spot in the nick of time. They caught the accused Karan alias Sandeep and took him to Dhantoli Police Station which is hardly 100 metres away from the spot.

PSI S S Munde booked the accused Karan alias Sandeep Nandanwar under Section 393 of the IPC and placed him under arrest.
