NewDelhi/Nagpur:  The stormy AAP, National executive meeting that began amidst a lot a ‘gate drama’ by Yogendra Yadav and furor over why even AAP Lokpal Ramdass was not ‘permitted’ to attend seems to have taken its first momentous decision.

Veteran party leaders, in fact founding members Prashant Bhushan, Yogendra Yadav and other leaders like Anand Kumar and Ajit Jha were literally shown the door unceremoniously among chants of ‘Murdabad’.
Tempers were seen to be running high even before the meeting began and there were placards, posters and slogans against the dissidents to welcome them as they arrived.

Yadav added to the chaos by posturing and sitting on a ‘dharna’ with just 4-5 supporters outside and then changing his mind and saying “he would now go in to protest”.

What happened inside is not clear exactly but word is coming out that there was physical violence also and Mayank Gandhi was roughed up so was Azad, who has left the meet to get ‘medical attention’.

Bhushan and Yadav have called their ouster ‘murder of democracy’ and claimed that their supporters were not allowed to speak.

Kejriwal, is supposed to have stood by as a mute spectator when these things were happening.

As an AAP member commented “They came asking for this, they got it. We would not allow them to destroy the party however senior they may be”.

Kejriwal spoke first and suggested Gopal Rao’s name to chair the meeting. It was opposed by a small faction. But they were over ruled.

It is learnt that 298 AAP NC members attended the meet. Of them 167 moved the resolution to remove the four mentioned above. 280 supported the resolution, 10 opposed and 8 abstained.

Kejriwal left the venue soon after.
