  • Kumbhare faction unhappy
  • Kamptee politics may be influenced

Nagpur: The time being a very powerful factor, and it can change everything, the months-old bitterness between Kamptee-Koradi-Mouda Assembly segment MLA, State Energy Minister as well as Nagpur Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Kamptee Nagar Parishad vice president Ranjeet Safelkar is resolved and now they have come close like never before.

It may be mentioned that a couple of months ago the differences between the two had cropped on political reasons in which Kamptee Nagar Parishad vice president Safelkar was under-estimated in Banwakule’s preference to former Minister of State, Sulekha Kumbhare. But, time played a major role and both of them have come close just before 48 hours. On the other hand, the Kumbhare faction has become oblique due to this development. The political pundits fear that this development may cause rift at ruling combine in Kamptee Nagar Parishad, and change of guard may also be possible.

MLA Chandrashekhar Bawankule and Ranjeet Safelkar were distancing from each other due to the fact that during Maharashtra State Assembly election former minister of state Sulekhka Kumbhare had extended her support to Bawankule, and Kumbhare was never in good terms with Safelkar and Saza Seth. Kumbhare in good faith of Bawankule made him listen to her on political affairs of Kamptee and she also opposed Safelkar. As a result, whenever Banwakule reached Kamptee, he gave importance to Kumbhare but maintained distance with Safelkar.

This sort of development always kept Bawankule under stress and Safelkar under dejection, but Kumbhare was however pleased. Since a politician cannot survive without ‘gain’, Kumbhare still expects herself to head some corporation (mahamandal) while Safelkar too wishes to be on the Safai Kamgar Mahamandal, all with the help of Bawankule.

Safelkar has suffered a great loss due to closeness of Bawankule and Kumbhare. Bawankule never paid heed to Safelkar who wanted favours from him for his men. At times though recommendation letters were issued by Bawankule, but no work was done. Thus, dejected at every stage, Safelkar held altercations with Bawankule amidst close-ones at Ravi Bhavan, once before proceeding to Mumbai and then before going on a foreign trip. During altercations, Safelkar was much aggressive while Bawankule exhibited patience, to the surprise of onlookers. After this altercation, Bawankule joinied by Ajju Agrawal, left for a long trip abroad.

About 48 hours ago, there took place a secret meeting between Safelkar and Bawankule at Ravi Bhavan and their differences got sorted out. This development has upset Kumbhare faction, and its impact may be seen in near future. Knowledgeable sources feel that Kumbhare faction’s ire may play destructive role in Kamptee politics and Nagar Parishad elections. But, they also speculate that Safelkar too might be benefited to march forward in politics.
