Bawankule hoists Tri-colour as patriotic fervour marks R-Day celebrations in city

R- Day Celebration (2)Nagpur: Patriotic fervor marked the Republic Day celebrations in the Second Capital City of Nagpur. The the main function being held at Kasturchand Park. The Guardian Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule hoisted the National Flag and also took the salute at the colourful and attractive the Police Parade.

This year’s R-Day parade, participated by officials and jawans of different police forces, school and college students, cultural groups, was commanded by Assistant Superintendent of Police (Nagpur Rural) Akshay Shinde. Other officials present on the occasion include Divisional Commissioner Anupkumar, Commissioner of Police S P Yadav, District Collector Sachin Kurve and others.

Extending his Republic Day greetings to citizens, Bawankule stressed that the State and Central Governments are making all out efforts for development of the city by initiating several projects. He highlighted various measures being taken by the Nagpur Municipal Corporation to develop Nagpur as “Smart City.”

R- Day Celebration (5)The Guardian Minister on the occasion honoured the Nagpur Range Special Inspector General of Police Ravindra Kadam and Assistant Police Sub-Inspector Bhaskar Wankhede who have been awarded President’s Medals for their commendable contribution while serving the police force. Similarly, Deputy Commissioner of Police Shailendra Balkawde was also honoured by the Minister for his outstanding feat in tracing the missing kids. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of the parade in various categories.

A large number of dignitaries and citizens were present at the main function of Republic Day celebration.
