Basic Life Support Work shop held at Govt. Dental College & Hospital, Nagpur

Workshop for Basic Life Support (BLS) was organized in Government Dental College & Hospital (GDCH) Nagpur on November15,  2014.  98 Nurses, 12 Occupational Therapist and 50 Dental Interns were trained for BLS.

Dr.Chetan Trivedy , was the overseas speaker . A qualified Dental Surgeon as well as Medical practitioner, is a NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Emergency Medicine, University of Warwick, U.K. He is a trainer for Emergency Medicine. He trained the participants for step by step action along with proper cardiac thrust to be applied in an emergency.

The participants were trained on mannequin ( a replica of human body), on which they were allowed to practice. Dr Trivedy in his lecture emphasized on training of each person for BLS so that the precious life can be saved in the golden time in and out of hospital premises.

Professor& Head of Anesthesia Dr.Tirpude, chaired the session. He emphasized on implementing BLS practice, keeping ourselves alert for saving the precious life in emergency of cardiac arrest.

BLS
Dr.Hazarey, Dean, Govt. Dental College & Hospital, actively participated in this training. He sensitized all the staff and students of GDCH, Nagpur to get trained for BLS. This was the unique workshop wherein  Government medical college and dental college were trained together and a pledge was taken to train the other people for BLS under guidance of Dr. Tirpude . Dr.Varsha S. Manekar , Officer Inchage, along with Dr.Bule and Dr.Gadve organized the program. Interns  Prachi Rathi and Shivani  Uttarwar conducted the program.
