Basant Sunda attends scuba diving camp

Nagpur: Cadet Basant Kumar Sunda of 2 Mah Air Squadron of the NCC Unit in Nagpur recently attended a Scuba Diving Camp from the October 4th to 20th in No 1 Naval Unit at Colaba, Mumbai. He completed all the various tasks assigned to him in the camp wherein 30 students from all over India applied and he was fortunate to be selected from these to be in the list of 15 students. He was presented with a gold medal in the camp for outstanding performance and thus becomes eligible for the final camp which is being organized in January 2017.

Basant was also presented with a cash prize of Rs 3000 and has been invited along with a family member for a camp at Lakshwadeep. The camp was supported with the able guidance of Rear Admiral Shyam Kumar, Naval Unit Chief, Colaba, Mumbai.

Incidentally Sunda happens to be a student of the National Fire Service College, Nagpur studying in the Second Year of the B E (Fire). At a glittering function held recently at the college, Sunda was honoured with gold medal by Chief Fire Officer (Retd) Ajay Kumar Sharma of Delhi Fire Service in presence of Chief Fire Officer of Bhilai Steel Plant Jagmohan Jain and Director General (Retd) of J&K Fire Service Dr G M Bhat. Director of National Fire College, Nagpur Dr Shamim congratulated Sunda on this unique achievement. Course Supervisor Dr G S Natarajan also attended the function.
