Auto-rickshaw driver robbed at Munje Chowk, 4 goons arrested

Nagpur: An autorickshaw driver was reportedly robbed of his mobile phone and cash, allegedly by four youths owing to the professional rivalry. Dhantoli police have arrested four youths in this connection.

Those arrested have been identified as Badal Vasant Pradhan (24), a resident of Kaushalya Nagar, Kukde layout; Suresh Siddharth Dhengre (25), a resident of Plot No. 20, New Kailas Nagar, Ajni; Akshay Laxmanrao Ambalkar (24), a resident of Rameshwari, Dwarkapuri, Hawrapeth and Gajanan Laxman Wadadhe (20), a resident of Vasant Nagar, Old Babulkheda.

The incident took place near the office of a travel company at Munje Square at around 8 pm. The robbed driver Girijesh Umesh Pande (28) is a resident of Dwarkapuri, Rameshwari.

In his complaint Pande said that the miscreants first snatched his mobile phone and later they also took away Rs 5,000 cash from his possesion and fled the spot. After registering offences under Sections 363 and 394 of Indian Penal Code, the Dhantoli police and a team of Crime Branch launched the search for the accused and arrested them.
