Australian Parliamentary Delegation meets Maha Governor

An Australian Parliamentary delegation of the Joint Standing Committee on Treties led by Chairman Stuart Robert met the Governor of Maharashtra CH. Vidyasagar Rao at Raj Bhavan, Mumbai on Monday (6th Aug)

Chair Stuart Robert said Australia’s India Economic Strategy has identified 10 key sectors for partnership including Education, Agribusiness, Tourism, Energy, Financial Services, Sports, etc. He said direct air connectivity between Mumbai and major Australian cities will boost cooperation in many areas. The Chairman assured his cooperation in this regard.

Welcoming the parliamentary delegation to Maharashtra, the Governor said air connectivity between Mumbai and major Australian cities will benefit horticulture and tourism sectors in the State. He sought the cooperation of Australia in establishing a Sports University in Maharashtra.

Michael Danby, MP, Mrs Nola Marino, MP and Tony Huber, Consul General of Australia in Mumbai were among those present.
