The regular commuters in massive numbers hop to nearby towns on daily basis for various reasons such as job, business etc. Most of the daily passengers travel to Bhandara, Tumsar, Wardha and other towns in four directions. For these commuters catching trains on time is foremost priority. And coming to the railway station by autos or buses is not the smart proposition. So they prefer their own two-wheelers. The two-wheelers are parked at the station slot. And here lies the trouble!
According to rules, a commuter has to pay only Rs 300 for procuring monthly parking pass. But the contractor running the show refuses to part with the monthly pass citing whimsical reasons. Passes have exhausted or parking has gone full are some of the fake reasons. Issuing of parking passes to 40 percent vehicles is a must by rules. A commuter hopping to Bhandara complained that he has to pay Rs 20 for parking daily whereas the train fare is less.
Likewise, hundreds of other regular commuters are stung by the “Pay more for parking than the train fare” syndrome.
