Nagpur: In an atrocious act, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), attached to Kalamna Police Station, took a young woman to his house on the pretext of dropping her at office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) and outraged her modesty by indulging in obscene acts. The accused ASI has been booked. It could not be verified whether the victimized woman was also a police personnel. The incident took place on July 16, 2016 but a case was registered on July 25 for reasons better known to the woman and the police. The age of the accused has also been mentioned differently in police release as 50 and 57 years.
The accused Altaf Ahmed Gani Ahmed, between 5.45 and 8 pm on July 16, 2016, told the complainant woman, aged 25, that he will drop her at the office of Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Sadar area. However, instead of dropping her at the DCP office, the accused ASI took her to his house and asked her to sit for a while. But when the woman refused to do that, the ASI Altaf Ahmed caught hold her hand and indulged in vulgar actions. Thus the accused ASI outraged the modesty of the woman. For reasons, the victimized woman seems to have lodged a delayed complaint with Sadar police.
PSI S V Khaje, acting on the complaint, has booked the accused ASI Altaf Ahmed under Section 354(A) of the IPC and launched an in-depth investigation into the matter.
