Nagpur: The Headquarters Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area Nagpur imbued in the spirit of taking care of veterans and dependents, organized a function at nine locations including Nagpur, Bhusawal, Pulgaon, Devlali, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Dharangdhara, Vadodara and Jamnagar in Maharashtra and Gujarat respectively to felicitate widows and divyangjan ex-servicemen on the eve of 75th Republic Day.

On behalf of Major General S K Vidyarthi, General Officer Commanding, the Station Commanders of all nine stations highlighted the importance of looking after the welfare of divyangjan Ex-Servicemen including widows who are in financial distress and find it difficult to sustain their living with the limited pensionary benefits.

48 widows and two divyangjan ex-servicemen were felicitated and given financial assistance in past two years. Carrying the tradition forward, on January 25 & 26, 2024, a total of 26 widows and 9 divyangjan Ex-Servicemen were felicitated and given a financial assistance of Rs 17,50,000 @ Rs 50,000 each, said a press release issued by Gp Capt Ratnakar Singh, Defence PRO, Nagpur.
