Nagpur: In what may be called an irony of law system, the builder accused of negligence causing death of 11 year twins – Priyansh and Piyush Dhar, has been granted bail on Monday. The builder of Armors Township at Sugat Nagar Anand Khobragade walked out of police custody while the parents of the twins appeared grim. The twins got in contact with high tension wires and died few days later one after another while undergoing treatment at hospital.

Khobragade was arrested on June 22 for constructing the township under the 33KV Mankapur Nara high tension line. Eleven-year-old twins Priyansha and Piyush Dhar got electrocuted by this line while they were playing at their aunt’s place on May 31. Both of them died later.

The builder had told the property buyers that the line had been decommissioned and did not carry any current. He also told them that soon it would be converted to an underground cable.

The gullible buyers fell for his claims and bought the flats and row houses only to regret later.

The Jaripatka police had also arrested two employees of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s (NMC) town planning department for clearing Khobragade’s township despite knowing that it was under an HT line.

The police may arrest more officials of the department in the coming days.
