Armed hoodlums go violent in Lashkaribagh, youth stabbed, 3 cars damaged

Lashkaribagh locality went tense on Friday night when a group of 10-12 armed hoodlums indulged in violent acts. A youth was attacked with knife and three cars were damaged by the miscreants. Cops have arrest six accused and also seized a pistol and sharp-edged weapons.

The trouble began around 11 pm of Friday when Asif Sheikh Mohd Sadik Sheikh (30) was talking to his friend on election in a masjid. At the same time, a group of 10-12 persons, armed with a pistol and sharp-edged weapons, arrived at the spot. The hoodlums hurled abuses and attacked Asif with a knife. The accused stabbed Asif on his back. While fleeing the spot, the miscreants damaged a Scorpio car (MH-31/CP 5522), two Centro cars and pelted stones on Asif’s house.

Pachpaoli police were informed about the violent acts indulged in by the rampaging group. A team of cops rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control. Cops managed to arrest six accused namely Jahangir Hafiz Khan (25), Abdul Kayum Shahabaz Khan alias Manjurkhan (44), Salman Arif Ansari (24), Saddam Khan Aziz Khan (22), all residents of Lashkaribagh, Mosin Khan Sajid Khan alias John (23) and Irfan Ahmed Vakil Ahmed (40), both residents of Habib Nagar. Cops have seized a pistol and sharp-edged weapons from the possession of arrested accused. A hunt is on to nab other absconding accused.

Pachpaoli PSI V D Bopte has booked the accused under Sections 143, 147, 148, 149, 324, 457, 504, 506 of the IPC read with Sub-Sections 3+25, 4+25 of Arms Act.
