Apathetic work on DP road project leaves Mayor red-faced

Mayor Pravin Datke on Friday was left red-faced when he found that information regarding Development Plan (DP) road was not updated with latest status in some zones by the concerned officials even though a review meeting was to be held today. The Mayor directed the Additional Municipal Commissioner Nayna Gunde to provide him the updated information within three days. Information regarding NMC and NIT roads be given separately and for this work additional workforce should be deployed, said Mayor.

A meeting to review DP road project was held at 10 am on Monday at the hall of Standing Committee in Civil Lines. The Mayor presided over the meeting and attended by Deputy Mayor Munna Pokulwar, Standing Committee Chairman Ramesh Singare, Ruling Party Leader Dayashankar Tiwari, Electricity and Projects Special Committee Chairman Sunil Agrawal, Addl Commissioner Nayna Gunde, Executive Engineers Dilip Jamgade, M G Kukreja, Rajesh Bhutkar, Assistant Director (Town Planning) Supriya Thool, Chief Accounts and Finance Officer Madan Gadge, all the Assistant Commissioners of 10 zones and others.

Executive Engineer Dilip Jamgade informed the meeting that information regarding development of roads under Nagpur City Sanctioned Development Plan has been received for zones 6, 7, 8, and 10. The development of Maharajbagh and Satranjipura roads is going on while work on Morris College, Matruseva Sangh, Netaji Market etc will begin soon. The proposal on joint survey of 30-meter wide road from Vanjari Nagar Water Tank to Ajni Railway Bridge has been submitted to City Survey Office while Vanjari Nagar Water Tank to Narendra Nagar Ring Road will be submitted soon, said Jamgade.

Standing Committee Chairman Ramesh Singare directed the officials concerned to take up the work on urgent basis.
