Annapurnadevi Sharma donates her Gokulpeth house to NMC

Nagpur: Continuing the rich tradition of donating personal properties for social cause set by the great philanthropists such as D Laxminarayan, Kasturchand Daga, the Gokulpeth-based resident Annapurnadevi Sharma donated her house, situated near Gokulpeth Hanuman Mandir, to Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) for the use by NMC’s Indira Gandhi Hospital, Gandhinagar.

Annapurnadevi Sharma, who passed away on 27.7.2016, in her will dated 10.12.2003, donated one property House No. 569 situated in Gokulpeth to NMC owned Indira Gandhi Hospital. The grandson of late Annapurnadevi Sharma, Chartered Accountant Devendra Sharma, handed over the will document and other necessary documents to Mayor Pravin Datke and Municipal Commissioner Shravan Hardikar at Civil Lines office of NMC on Thursday (September 8). The donated property comprises two-story building having 1350 sq ft built up area has estimated value of Rs 1.50 crore.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion include former Deputy Mayor and member of Standing Committee Munna Pokulwar, Health Committee Chairman Devendra Meher, former Chairman of Standing Committee Ramesh Singare, Corporators Pravin Bhisikar, Sanjay Bonde, Estate Officer R S Bhute and others.
