Nagpur/Amravati: Bringing immense pride to Vidarbha, Dr Tushar Ambadkar of Amravati has clinched top honours at the prestigious National Geographic India Photography Contest, themed #CaptureInMotion. His breathtaking wildlife photograph outshone thousands of entries from across the country, earning him national recognition on one of the world’s most respected visual storytelling platforms, National Geographic India.
The winning image, celebrated for its dynamism and artistic precision, perfectly embodied the spirit of motion in nature, a hallmark of compelling wildlife photography. The photograph will soon feature in National Geographic India’s official albums, calendars and digital platforms, offering Dr Ambadkar’s work a global stage.
Dr Ambadkar, a dedicated wildlife photographer since 2011, has spent over a decade patiently observing, waiting, and capturing the untamed beauty of birds and wildlife through his lens. What began as curiosity gradually evolved into a lifelong passion marked by discipline, resilience and artistic vision.
Reflecting on his achievement, Dr Ambadkar credited his success to unwavering patience, deep curiosity and an abiding love for nature. “Wildlife photography teaches you humility. You wait for hours, sometimes days, for a single perfect frame. This award is a result of that patience and passion,” he said.
A moment of pride for Vidarbha
As a token of appreciation, National Geographic India presented him with an exclusive Nat Geo India memento, a symbol of excellence in visual storytelling. More importantly, the honour places Amravati and the wider Vidarbha region firmly on India’s creative map.
In an era where wildlife conservation and environmental awareness are more crucial than ever, Dr Ambadkar’s achievement stands as an inspiring testament to how dedication and love for nature can translate into national acclaim.
His victory is not merely personal, it is a proud moment for Maharashtra and a shining example of how talent from smaller cities can command the national spotlight.
