Amitabh being urged to not promote Mulayam Singh film

Mulayam Singh Yadav believes that the Badaun rape case was “blown out of proportion and women exaggerate rape claims to “settle scores.” As a young woman living in India, I’m horrified by the statements of Mulayam Singh Yadav!

Shockingly, Amitabh Bachchan has been asked to introduce and promote the film “Netaji- Mulayam Singh Yadav”celebrating the life and achievements of Mulayam Singh Yadav!

Sign my petition and ask Amitabh Bachchan to boycott the film and any promotions, in protest of Mulayam Singh Yadav’s horrible sexist remarks about rape survivors.

Amitabh Bachchan over the years has taken a stand on social issues regarding women and has generously supported organisations working for the upliftment of girls in India. Meanwhile, Mulayam Singh believes that it is impossible for 4 men to gangrape a woman and the survivor is lying in such cases.

Veteran bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan promoting film “Netaji” is giving validation to the deeply sexist comments by Mulayam Singh Yadav and his misogynistic ideology about women.

“Here the rate of rape cases is only 2% while in Madhya Pradesh it is 9 and in Rajasthan it is 7. In Delhi the situation is worse.” Is that what rape is for you, Mulayam Singh? A number, a statistic? Shame on you!

While Mulayam Singh continues to pass insensitive, sexist remarks, there are biopics being made to celebrate his achievements.

If thousands sign this petition, we can ensure that veteran actors like Amitabh Bachchan boycott the film celebrating achievements of sexist and insensitive politicians like Mulayam Singh Yadav.
